About the Department


The Psychology Department of Bartın University

     The Psychology Department of Bartın University started accepting students within the Faculty of Letters in the 2018 - 2019 academic year. The Department of Psychology is a four-year undergraduate program. The language of instruction of the program is Turkish. Students take compulsory courses in the first two years; in the third and fourth education years, in addition to the compulsory courses, they take elective courses within the department. In the current situation in the department, 4 assistant professor, 1 lecturer and 7 research assistants.

     The science of psychology is the study of human and animal behaviors and the mental processes underlying these behaviors using observation and experimental methods within the framework of a scientific understanding. The science of psychology is divided into different sub-fields. In this context, Bartın University Department of Psychology; It consists of 4 departments, namely Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Social Psychology and Applied Psychology.

     Double Major and Minor Programs have been opened in our department since the 2019 - 2020 academic year. These programs are carried out with the Philosophy and Sociology Departments. In addition, Erasmus, Mevlana and Farabi Exchange Programs continue.

     Our department has not graduated yet and continues its education with 264 Psychology, 24 Double Major and 28 Minor Program students. In addition to the lectures, the department organizes conferences with the participation of faculty members and students on various topics related to psychology. Graduates who successfully complete the program receive the "Bachelor's Degree in Psychology" degree.
